Quite simply, the S.T.A.R. Binder is a three ring binder (1 1/2 or 2 inch) that your child will use everyday. 

The purpose is to aid in the development of organizational skills and foster responsibility. It is important to keep the lines of communication between home and school open. This book is a way of helping your child become accountable for those communications. 

The focus is to eliminate lost notes, money, calendars, newsletters, and homework, as well as keep parents and students informed of important events and academic progress.
