Behind the Scenes
Photography
I had worked a few events before this, though they could not have prepared me for the intensity of Crufts. We were able to work under Heidi, and her wonderful assistant Bob, over the course of the weekend.
Our role was to capture the event in its entierty, looking to capture the collective effervescence in the crowds. Because of this we were able to experience some behind the scenes action and meet some amazing people along the way.
Though I did attempt to film some content for my own socials, amist the husstle and bustle of it all, it completly slipped my mind and I didnt manage to get as much as I had hoped. But, with it being my first time, I am happy with just the photos I managed to capture.
Before submission, photos required little editing, as they were to be edited for socials after the event. This aspect felt very freeing as it meant I'd be able to edit my copies as I wanted after the event, which lead to a lot of experimentation. I wanted to see if I could bring that warm vintage vibe to my photos. I think I managed to pull it off, and am happy with the outcome, but I am still new to Lightroom so I know there is improvment to be made.
A huge thank you to Heidi, Alicia, and the rest of the photography team at Crufts for the wonderful, though chaotic, experience.
It was lovely getting to meet people with a common interest in dogs and photography. I was able to learn so much more about the vast amount of breeds there is and their history, of which I am forever grateful.
