FOREST VENTURES
FOREST VENTURES
Welcome
Online I'm known as Forest, but to friends and family, I am Leif.
I have always been fasinated by the ocean. I grew up on marine media, with a particular interest in Australian wildlife. That said I adore all wildlife, and went on to study Zoology at University.
Join me on my avdventures as I navigate this crazy world as a creative, neurodiverse induvidual. Lets capture the beauty of mother nature and learn more about this incredible planet together.
Forest Heliography
It was at university that I met one of my closest friends, Llanya, who inspired me to take my photography further. Before then I was primarily using my phone camera which, although handy, was not ideal for the wildlife photography I was aiming for. *enter my brothers old canon camera & 15mm lens*
Shortly after I came up with 'Forest Heliography' to display my work. I have been captivated by the sun for as long as I can remember, which is likely the reason I now need glasses. In greek myth Helios is the original personification of the sun, and with heliography being an old photographic prosess, although not the exact process I use, the name felt fitting.
Since then I have photographed several events with the RSPCA, Coventry Bikers, and The Royal Kennel Club. My photography has come a long way, but I am still learning every day.
Zoology & Marine Biology
Wildlife has had me in a chokehold since I was born. I knew from a young age that I was going to work with animals, I just wasn't sure how. I eventually came to the conclusion that I would go on to study Zoology at University, but first I needed to get there. In 2019 I went to Solihull Collage to study Animal Management, securing the grades I needed for uni. In 2021 it was finally time, I moved to Cambridge and began my studies at Anglia Ruskin University.
I was particularly drawn to behavioural and marine modules. Though I adore all animals, marine mammals and birds steal a large amount of my attention. now that I have my bachelors in zoology, I am eager to jump into the field and expand on my practical experience. I go in with an open mind, wanting to learn and experience as much as I can, honing my knowlege and creativity. I aim to one day work in rescue and rehabilitation, helping to push conservation and support the planet further.
