This linked page is maintained by Forest Lake Area Schools and is the best place for date/location information and documents to be discussed at the school board meetings.  

In the center of the page are the upcoming meetings - they are typically the first and third Thursday but there are exceptions.

On the right-hand side are links to:

  • Board Book - this is where documents and agendas are posted, an important resource for knowing what is in the consent agenda and to see the full text of any policy.  Attachments are either links, or, at the end/bottom of the post.

In a listening session, held typically an hour before the first meeting in a month, is an informal, off the record discussion on any topic.  Arrive and sign in with your topic on the clipboard/paper. It is an open discussion with two board members and a member of the administration and should be a respectful discourse with limited moderation to keep on topic or move to the next.  

At a Board Meeting, public comment is allowed, but is limited to items on that night's agenda, has a time limit of four minutes, and the board will not reply.  Arrive before the start of the meeting and fill in a green card in with your topic/info. Cards should be on the table to the immediate right of the door as you enter the room. This is on the record and will be recorded and streamed.  Many people pre-write their remarks, while others speak from the heart. Do not think the board has 'heard enough'. Say your piece! Every voice matters and too often this board dismisses the voice of a single speaker. If you need help with your message, please contact us.
