Okay, so this isn't a super action-y action alert, but more of a recommendation. If you are on Facebook and looking for a likeminded community, Community Classroom is a fantastic group and resource for staying up to date on school board happenings and educational happenings in our district.

Yes, YOU!
Wondering what you can do right now while we're in the news for all the wrong reasons AGAIN?
1)Make Your Voice Heard! Please reach out to our school board members at schoolboard@flaschools.org and let them know that the lack of transparency and honesty, and the rejections of the Minnesota Human Rights Act and our constitution is unacceptable. The school board should be working on school board stuff, not cheap pop culture war topics that marginalize students. When they don't hear from us on this stuff, it is interpreted as tacit approval. Email and CC a friend so they know that other people know that they know. Our pro-public education board members also need to hear from us and how much we appreciate their work!
2)Educate! Talk to your friends, neighbors, and colleagues about what's happening here and educate them. Whether you have kids in the district or not, all of this impacts you either directly or indirectly. The harmful behavior, rhetoric, and policies that our district is getting attention for is bad for the entire community, most of all our students.
3)Stay Connected with Us! Follow us on Instagram and TikTok, and join our Email List to stay up to date on the current happenings.
