Rancho Cucamonga is the native home of the Steelhead Trout, an ocean-bearing, pink-flesh fish prized for its salmon like qualities.
By partnering with our Santa Ana River partners we can reopen a path to the sea and enable us to build a hatchery in our community.
With proper management (pumping recycled water uphill and desalinating in OC) we can create steady river channels that even draw the King Salmon from Ventura.
The Rancho Cucamonga Project will eventually scale up to 6000', just below Cucamonga Peak on the East Side. This is where we will carve a valley underneath the peak and pump up our waste water. to recharge the system. At various elevations we will carve new vallies, covered by the hilltops. This will enable us to make up to a dozen endangered habitat for fish across this state. The Peak is for the Golden trout, we will build our own Goose Lake at 4000'.
The freeway capping in Rancho Cucamonga is just one part of a much larger housing and habitat restoration plan. Our Tram will go to the peak through tunnels and vallies and we will ethically integrate housing and commerce venues into these spaces.
