🌍 Why I Created FOMNI

It all started one weekend when I was just bored — looking for an event around town where I could connect with fellow developers.

I searched everywhere, both online and offline, but finding local events wasn’t easy. Most of what I came across were events happening in Nairobi, and many required tickets or registrations I wasn’t ready for.

I remember thinking,

“I just want a simple way to find events nearby — something that helps me grow and meet like-minded people.”

When I looked for events in Kisumu, where I live, they were scattered across different social media pages, posters, and word of mouth. Days would pass, and I’d realize I had missed several great events simply because I didn’t know they were happening.

That’s when I asked myself:

“If I can’t find events in my own city easily, how many others are missing out too?”

That question led to the birth of FOMNI — an app designed to bring people together, help event organizers reach the right audience, and ensure that no opportunity goes unseen.
