“The Inventor”
about 40 years past, a new leader is appointed; Starheart Lavadrop
StarLava, previously a well-known Smith, ushers the clowder into a new era of innovation
she encourages every cat to create and attempts to bring the clowder closer together; seemingly a rejection of their traditionally wandering ways, some dwellers refuse
however, most come together, shrinking their territory and sticking to a single camp (unrelated to the two current camps)
“Human Interference”
at the end of StarLava’s life, humans and their machines begin showing up on the outskirts of JaggedCrag land
settlements different from the traditionally small coastal fishing villages pop up, interfering with nature and concerning the cats of the clowder
StarLava leads a scouting party to the settlement and gets caught by the humans in the process
the rest of the party flees back to camp
Starheart Foxwind is appointed in StarLava’s place
he bans his cats from going to the settlement, shrinking the territory even more
“Unrest”
as the years go on, the JaggedCrags become unsettled
attempts are made to expand and explore beyond the territory again with much debate
StarFox is kind, but strict; he believes in no need for such a thing
the cats begin to focus more of survival than creativity
some cats leave the JaggedCrags, yearning for adventure
“The Earth’s Answer”
approximately 9 years after StarLava’s disappearance, the nearest volcano erupts
the destruction spreads far enough to wipe out the strange human settlement outside of the territory
ash covers the territory, making prey scarce and cats sick; StarFox dies
a Scout named Clatterbone leads the JaggedCrags away from their home and further into the tundra
Clatterbone becomes a Starheart as a result
the cats find a large glacial waterfall with a cave in its depths; this is their new home
“A Budding Era”
years pass, the JaggedCrags build themselves up again and settle into a fresh home
StarClatter leads well, encouraging the JaggedCrags to venture once more
hot springs are discovered and the Soup is begun
two cats, a Scout and Smith named Goshawkglare and Ruddyslip, discover the clowder’s new secondary camp; a cavern found within a deep expanse of caves in a nearby mountain
the JaggedCrags decide that it will be their home for the Winter and Spring
the new camp, once moved in, leads to the discovery of lava tunnels within the mountain as well; the Smiths begin to truly play with fire
StarClatter dies; then comes Starheart Pebblepulse and then Starheart Turnipmoon
“Sinister Influences”
two cats, the future Seer and Apothecary named Midnightwing and Medlarsnap, are born into the clowder (approx. 7 years past)
three years later, a harsh Winter and another eruption leaves the JaggedCrags weak and wary
Starheart Iciclenose comes into power, considered by some a weak leader
Midnightwing and Medlarsnap begin scheming together, a shared goal in taking over the clowder
they fake an omen and poison cats by interfering with the Soup
StarIcicle becomes sick; Midnight and Medlar confess to the crime at her deathbed, and someone overhears— Twigfrost, a Skywatcher
Twigfrost rats them out; the sisters flee
Twigfrost becomes a Starheart
the Soup is started from scratch
“A Natural Disaster”
two years pass
(approx. one moon from the present) a great avalanche comes down from the mountains, blocking off the Summer/Autumn waterfall; StarTwig dies from injury
the cats are now exposed to the wilderness in this particular camp
the only water making it through is dirty and undrinkable; upstream, the river has flooded
the JaggedCrags begin their attempt to clear the blockage
others begin to scout for a new (or temporary camp)
a new leader is appointed
