We need your support on Friday 9th October at 9.15am for the annual AGM. This is a really important event as we need a minimum number of 35 attendees to allow the meeting to go ahead. The meeting usually only takes about 20minutes, and must take place annually. We review the charity's yearly activities, elect the leadership committee, and present financial accounts to our members including the school and parents of the teachers we support. Please come along to the school hall straight after the morning drop-off. We need attendees, so please invite family members along too!
We are also looking for a new Treasurer. No experience or accounting background needed. See the poster here for more info.
Children can wear any non-uniform they wish, in exchange for raffle prizes for the Christmas Bonanza (4th Dec) π βοΈπ€Άππ
One of our staples and a much loved fundraising event to our children, the annual disco is a blast! Split between two groups of KS1 and KS2 (times to follow but usually just after school finishes) for about an hour, the children get on their best frocks and coolest thready ready to light up that dance floorπΊπ KS1 will get ready in their classrooms after school, then hit the dancefloor with our local DJ Tom πͺ© All that dancing builds up an appetite so yummy snacks and refreshments are also provided. KS2 usually follows shortly after. Details on timings will follow shortly. Details are sent out on ParentMail and tickets can be purchased through the app.
Our biggest and most popular fundraising event of the year, the Christmas Bonanza is another staple π βοΈπ€Άππ We transform the school into a Christmas wonderland: filled with Santa's Grotto, Santa's Little Helper (supported by a crew of Elves, the children get to go shopping for you!), market stalls, mega raffle, food & refreshments and more. Bring along the family for a fun-filled evening to get the Christmas spirits going. Don't forget your cash and change to avoid disappointment, as whilst some stalls will have card machines... we all know the signal isn't always the best!
Ahead of time, we ask for Jam Jar & Pocket envelope donations. You can fill a jam jar full of sweets, toys, stationary or festive treats and send it into school with the children any time ahead of the bonanza. We also send out little coloured envelopes in the children's school bags, whihc you can fill with small change. These all go towards the activiteis we run at the bonanza.Β
Santa's Little Helper is one of our most popular events - giving the children the opportunity to 'go shopping' for gifts for their families which are a complete surprise for you to open on Christmas Day! You fill out a little card on the day of who they are buying a gift(s) for (Β£5 per gift/person), the children are then shaperoned through to the 'Elves Workshop' by our very own FoDHS Elves, to chose, wrap and label their chosen gifts. Great fun for all the family!
A regular FoDHS-funded event, the FoDHS committee fund the transport to the panto whilst the school pays for the tickets, and our volunteers help throughout the day. During the normal school day, the children all take a coach trip to Wyvern Theatre in Swindon to watch the pantomime. Usual packed lunches should be prepared, or ordered through the school lunches app. Further details will be provided and payment can be made through ParentMail.
The second of our three annual cake bakes is from Hedgehog and Owl. These events help to raise vital funds for our school. Children from the classes bring in cakes made from home (purchased are absolutely accepted too π€«) to be sold at the end of the school day in the school playground for everyone to enjoy. Don't forget to bring your change and tupperware π΅πͺ
Another annual event, we put on a super Easter egg hunt for all the children. It takes place during the school day. We only ask for a small donation which can be made through the ParentMail app.
A regular in the FoDHS calendar, children settle down in the school hall for movie night. Details of the movie will follow through ParentMail in due course, and snacks and refreshments will be provided on the night π₯πΏποΈ
The last of our three annual cakes bakes to raise vital funds for our school is upon us. Children from the classes bring in cakes made from home (purchased are absolutely accepted too π€«) to be sold at the end of the school day in the school playground for everyone to enjoy. Don't forget to bring your change and tupperware π΅πͺ
Children can wear any non-uniform they wish, in exchange for a bottle of wine for the Village Fete Wine & Water stall (10th July) π·π₯
An annual stall we run at the local villege fete. Come and have a go - will you win a bottle of wine, or a bottle of water?π·π§
