Professor Mairead Kiely is Professor of Human Nutrition in the School of Food and Nutritional Sciences. She is co-director of the Cork Centre for Vitamin D and Nutrition Research and is a PI at the INFANT Research Centre. Her research is mainly in micronutrients, in particular vitamin D, and maternal and child nutrition and development.

Dr Miriam Clegg has recently joined the School as Senior Lecturer in Nutrition. Miriam has come from the University of Reading where she was Programme Lead for the BSc Nutrition and Deputy Director for the Institute of Food, Nutrition & Health. Her main areas of research interest include examining the role of food and diet on appetite, incorporating markers of food intake, eating behaviours and nutritional status including gastrointestinal transit, energy expenditure and hormones related to appetite.
