Parking Laws

Due to an error with the Firestone Traffic Revision Act, it is recommended to only park, stop, or wait in areas specifically designated for parking, stopping, or waiting.

The following are improper manners in which to park a motor vehicle:

  • In any area not designated for parking (road markings/signage).
  • Using multiple parking spaces.
  • Obstructing parking spaces.
  • In a handicap spot, unless the owner of the vehicle is authorized.
  • In an electric charging spot when not an electric vehicle.
  • In any way which obstructs a gas/recharging stations.
  • On any lane with arrows painted on it.
  • In front of any sunken curbstones/sidewalks.
  • In any way which obstructs a garbage dumpster.
  • Within 20 studs of any bus stop.
  • Within 30 studs of any fire hydrant or fire lane.
  • In any area not designated for stopping.

You are exempt from all the above if authorized to park in the area. This can be indicated by signage or road markings.

The fines for illegal parking are below.

Illegal Bicycle Parking is parking a bicycle in any way that hinders traffic/pedestrians, poses a threat to safety, or is in violation of road markings/signage. The fine is $15.
