Guimaras Strait boasts a biodiverse mangrove areas. Common species found are Rhizophora apiculata (Bakhaw lalake), Sonneratia alba (Pagatpat), Avicennia marina (Bungalon), and Nypa fruticans (Nipa). It is also home to endangered and protected marine animals such as the Irrawaddy dolphins and Dugongs.
