Workshop Participant Funding Ideas

Here are a few suggestions on how you can come to the Florida Band Director Workshop for FREE!

• County Resources - Ask your Music Supervisor if there are county funds to help with Professional Development. We provide a Certificate of Completion at the end of the workshop that can be turned in as documentation to show that you completed the hours. In many counties/districts these hours can also be used towards your teaching certificate renewal.
• Professional Development Funds from your School - Ask your principal or supervisor if there are school funds to help provide professional development for their teachers.
• Band Parents/Boosters - Ask your Band Boosters to pay for some or all of your entry fee.
• PTO Groups - Ask your school's PTO to pay for some or all of your entry fee.
• High School Directors could sponsor their Middle School Director - Many High School Directors have sponsored their feeding Middle School Director(s) to attend the workshop. This has allowed them to come to the workshop together and formulate a united vision for their Band Programs throughout their entire feeder chain.
• Ask Family Members to help pay - Family members are typically happy to help pay for some or all of the entry fee for the workshop. You could ask them to cover your housing and/or your meals and you take care of the workshop fee or visa versa. Or they can cover it all for you! :)
