MONDAY, June 19th
**10:30 AM - Check-in begins in the retreat center for people staying in the retreat center.**
12:00 PM – Opening and Welcome in Sanctuary
Everyone splits into 3 groups (1, 2, or 3). Bring mouthpieces/instruments etc to each session. You will be able to keep them in the church seats between sessions.
12:30 PM - Group 1 Percussion, Group 2 WWs, Group 3 Brass
1:30 PM - Group 2 Percussion, Group 3 WWs, Group 1 Brass
2:30 PM - Group 3 Percussion, Group 1 WWs, Group 2 Brass
3:30 PM - BREAK
3:45 PM - Beginning Band Session (Everyone play secondary instrument)
5:00 PM - Culture Activity Introduction.
5:15 PM - Clear stage of all equipment
6:00 PM - Bernie Hendrick’s BBQ at Sandpoint Park!
TUESDAY, June 20th
7:00 AM - Morning Stretch
7:30 AM - Mental Readiness/Devotions
8:00 AM - Breakfast
8:45 AM - Group Warm-Up (secondary instruments)
9:30 AM - Culture in the classroom.
10:30 AM - BREAK
10:45 AM - Everyone split into 3 groups. (primary instruments)
Group A - On Stage: Intonation/sound
Group B - Chorus Room - Jazz Improv
Group C - Meeting Room - MPA Sheet driven Instruction
11:45 AM - Lunch
12:45 PM - “Most Successful Teaching Strategies (Jim) in the Band Classroom” Part 1
2:15 PM - BREAK
2:30 PM - Score preparation and applying it to conducting - (primary instruments)
3:15 PM - History and Evolution of Instrument Manufacturing
3:45 PM - Break-out discussion groups. Four Groups: Blue, Yellow, Red, Green
