Silent Sandstorm
Silent Sandstorm
About
What happens when we let our mind spiral and give into negative self talk and destructive thoughts? When we don't keep an eye out for the harmful creature in the back of our head. The creature that keeps digging for the ruinous emotions that set us on a curse so difficult to disengage from. A constant battle between, and within yourself. A silent suffering in a lonesome dessert. The silent sandstorm is approaching.
Silent Sandstorm is a solo work projection of the mental spiraling and pain that happens in our mind when we don’t succeed in looking after ourselves. It's a work focusing on embodiment of a dystopian creature that symbolises the darker sides of our personality.
The performance is characterized with an expressive and physical movement style, embodying and incorporating animalistic behavior, repetition, shifting body images, flexible joints and tension to consume the audience in the dystopian and sometimes scary world that the creature exists in. Leaving space for own interpretation, and emotional impressions to the audience.
The work was a part of a tripple bill through the concept Aabent Laboratorium by Aabent Dans theatre in Roskilde Denmark.
Showcasing 3 different solo works by upcoming choreographers in Denmark, with an included aftertalk with the audience.

Manifesto
The creature lives in the desert, feeds on the desert storms, and likes to mess everything up. The creature is a part of me, but it’s not my friend. The creature deals with its own business, but if I don’t keep an eye on it, it will interfere with my thoughts. The desert can be a violent and destructive place. But if you know how to navigate it. It will serve you peace.
