What is Expansion Piping?
An Expansion piping joint is installed in piping systems for couple of reasons. Not only can they be used absorbed the vibration and shock they can be relieve the anchor stress, reduce noise and compensate for misalignment. Certain Piping Expansion Joint are also designed for thermal expansion in very hot applications
Expansion Joint pipe
Expansion Joints allows pipe to move in three different ways;

Metal
Metal expansion is commonly used in application where thermal expansion is an issue. When the temperature of the pipe increases, the metal expansion joint compresses to compensate for the movement, taking stress off the anchors and the pipe. Rubber
Rubber can be used for thermal expansion, and it also absorbs the vibration and shock waves extremely well. That’s why this type of expansion joint is great for minimizing the transmission noise, Vibration from other equipment to protect equipment like pumps
Braided
The braided stainless hoses with the flexible or metal liners aren’t technically an expansion joint, more of a flexible connector. They work well in high pressure and temperature of applications requiring the vibration dampening or pipe misalignments
Advantages of Bellows
To Increase the range of high pressure that the bellows can measure and to protect it from the strain, the bellows is pre compressed and fitted into a bellows unit
It is used to measure absolute and differential pressure
It is used to measure low or medium pressure range
