Procedures for the FLAIR Middle School Certificates for 2023
Teachers who wish to belong to FLAIR should email nimeyer@augusta.edu to be added to our FLAIR list. Membership is free and open to all language teachers in the CSRA.

Eligibility Requirements
This Certificate of Merit is for middle school students only. Here are the eligibility requirements:
Middle school students must have maintained an “A” average, or a 90 average, for the first half of the beginning-level course in the world language.
Middle school students must be recommended by their teacher.
Procedures
Ceremony
Each school will hold a ceremony or a virtual ceremony for their school only. It can be in conjunction with Honors Night at the school or a language club meeting. The date will be set by the school’s language teachers.
Certificates
FLAIR will give the template for the Certificate of Merit to one contact person per school.
The teachers or school will provide the paper for certificates. If funds are available, purchase the paper at Office Depot or Office Max:
The brand is Southworth by Neenah
Linen business paper, 24 lb. weight
Color is ivory
If there is no funding, teachers can print the certificates on regular copy paper (white, ivory or colored paper).
OR
The teachers can charge the students a small fee to cover the cost of the paper and perhaps printing.
Each school sill be responsible for printing and bestowing the certificates. Middle school language teachers will need to ask that their school provide the printing services.
Each school will maintain a membership list each year.
