INTRODUCTION TO SEA TEACHER PROGRAM
What is the SEA Teacher Program
The Southeast Asian Teacher (SEA Teacher) Program is an international practicum exchange program initiated by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO). This program provides an opportunity for pre-service teachers from Southeast Asian countries to gain teaching experience in different countries within the region. Through this initiative, future educators can develop their teaching skills, cultural awareness, and adaptability in diverse learning environments.
Program Structure
The SEA-Teacher Project offers one-month international teaching placements for 3rd- and 4th-year education students majoring in subjects like Mathematics, Science, English, Pre-school and Primary Education, Economics, Physical Education, and Social Studies.
What Student Teacher Will Experience
Classroom Observation & Assistance – Gain first-hand exposure to different teaching environments and support local teachers.
Independent Teaching Practice – Plan and deliver lessons, applying real-world teaching techniques.
Cross-Cultural Learning – Improve English communication skills and adapt to diverse educational settings.
Mentorship & Support – Receive guidance from host university mentors and peer support from student buddies.
