Speed and agility are essential skills in sports activities. Togain field or court advantage, the athlete must often move to aposition in a short amount of time. This training does not involve workingwith weights or other equipment.

Speed Strength

An athlete's general strength level determines his or herendurance in competition. A stronger athlete will run faster, jumphigher and OUT PERFORM his or her competition. In addition, building general muscle strength reduces the occurrence ofcommon injuries. Strength must be maintained in-season andoff-season. FSE general strength programs are customized forathletes in all sports.

Going for rebounds, challenging an opponent at the net andrunning to intercept a pass all depend on an athlete's ability tomake quick movements. Power and Explosiveness trainingincorporates plyometrics and Olympic weight lifting techniques toimprove performance in this area. FSE also has lower intensitypower exercises program for young and/or inexperience athletes.Power and Explosiveness techniques are closely related todevelopment of Speed & Agility.

Sports Nutrition

Good nutrition plays an important role in sports performance. The energy from the foods we eat is used to fuel our body's activities.A balanced diet is essential when training and deficiencies in diet willinhibit performance.
Nutritional guidelines are as complex as training itself. Each personmetabolizes food differently and the effect of these foods variesamong males, females, diabetics and individuals with certain allergies.Foods do not always supply the necessary level of nutrients, whichmay make supplements necessary, especially for those in training tomeet targeted performance goals. As part of my training or consultingpackage, I will provide information on diet and suggested supplementsto be used with your physician's approval.

Injury Prevention & Rehabilitation

Injury is very common in any physical activity. Doing the right exercise to recover can be challenging as well. My physical therapy program will address the functional cause of your condition rather than just focus on your symptoms. The goals are to return the body to proper alignment that will allow natural movement.
