Professor Kato, Ms. Rowena, Ms. Guruge, and Ms. Masunaga from our laboratory attended the 5th Conference of the International Society of Fish & Shellfish Immunology at Tainan, Taiwan. Congratulations to Ms. Cadis for winning The Best Oral Presentation Award, Ms. Guruge for receiving The Best Abstract Award, and Professor Kato for earning The Last Entry Award. Congratulations!

Ms. Nagisa Saito from our laboratory gave presentations at The 2025 Autumn Meeting of Japan Society of Fishery Science.

Professor Sano, Ms. Chaw, Mr. Carlo, Ms. Saito, Mr. Baba, Ms. Goto, and Mr. Numata from our laboratory gave presentations at the 22nd International Conference on Diseases of Fish and Shellfish (EAFP2025)

High school students from Hyogo Prefectural Awaji Mihara High School visited our laboratory and took part in a mock lesson.

Professor Kato has taken the stage to talk about "The Story about Gills that Nobody Knows; Gills will be the Sensor for Bacteria?!" at the Ocean City Yokohama Umihaku 2025 (ocean exposition).

The Academic Excellence Scholarship Award was gifted to Mr. Baba. (March, 2025)

Ms. Hashimoto and Ms. Murakami from our laboratory gave presentations at the the 25th annual meeting of the Japanese Society for Marine Biotechnology.

We conducted joint research with young researchers from four ASEAN countries

Mr. Saito, Mr. Baba, and Ms. Goto from our laboratory gave presentations at the 2025 Spring Meeting of The Japanese Society of Fish Pathology. Ms. Saito and Mr. Numata also gave presentations at the Spring Meeting of the Japanese Society of Fisheries Science.

Associate Professor Kato' s "Researcher Interview" has been posted on the TUMSAT SDGs Homepage.

"Development of Gamma-ray Irradiated Vaccines Against Fish Diseases" was adopted by the Adaptable and Seamless Technology Transfer Program Though Targetdriven R&D (A-STEP), in the bio-science field of Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). 

Professor Sano's proposed project, "Program for Improving Capacity to Promote Joint Research on Fish Disease Control for Sustainable Aquaculture Production in ASEAN," has been selected for the 2024 Japan-ASEAN Science, Technology and Innovation Collaborative Partnership (NEXUS) Young Talent Exchange Programme, run by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). 

Ten students from Indonesia and Malaysia visited our laboratory as a part of the JST Sakura Science Program.
