About Us

Our Mission Statement

The First Baptist Church of Ridgeway shall be a source of God’s love, God’s power, and God’s will in our community. This will be accomplished by: promoting a closer fellowship among the church members, promoting spiritual growth, developing leadership, witnessing, nurturing youth, and improving and expanding the church facilities.

History

First Baptist Church of Ridgeway was established in 1892. Reverend A.L. Betts of Madison, NC was the first pastor. Mrs. Sue Garret helped raise money for the construction of the first building by selling handmade aprons. The original building was remodeled several times between 1892-1979.

A new church building was built in 2003. The beautiful stained glass window (picture) in the sanctuary was given to FBCR by First Baptist Church of Martinsville. When FBCR moved into the new building, the stained glass window moved, too. During the last decade. Reverend Gary Edwards and many others were instrumental in the progress at FBCR, not just of the church building, but also the ministries.

It will not take you long to discover that First Baptist Church of Ridgeway is truly a family rich in relationships. Growing together, we learn and reach out to our world with the life-transforming truth of God's love. We reach out to you as well. Our doors are open. Our hearts are open too. If you have been thinking, praying, and searching for a place to belong, First Baptist Church of Ridgeway may be the answer.
