We have developed and validated a new heat tolerance test designed of occupational PPE wearers, with fire fighter and instructor activites an thermal load in mind.

This work was supported by the University of Brighton and carried out by our undergraduate and postgraduate research students.

Our newest study investigating the heat tolerance of fire instructors, shows greatest tolerance in those with the greater exposure histories. Showing heat tolerance is developed over the career.
