The Calibrite ColorChecker Studio can be used to calibrate you Monitor, Printer,Scanner and other devices to ensure that the colours you see are the colours that appear on the final output

⚠️ NOTE: The device is a delicate measurement instrument. Please handle it gently.
Avoid touching / scratching the sensors on the bottom
Before you use the device for the 1st time you will need to:
download & install the Calibrite Profiler software (Mac or Windows) from the Calibrite website >> here
set up an account for the Calibrite software to store your profile and calibration history >> here
connect the device to your laptop via the provided USB cable

How to Calibrate a Monitor 🖥️
Start the Calibrite Profiler software and follow the on-screen instructions
Tips:
The Dial needs a reasonable amount of pressure to turn. DO NOT FORCE IT!
Don't forget to open the protecting 'slide' on the bottom of the device before you start the process, Close it when complete (to protect the sensor)
Save your profiles for future reference in YOUR account and make sure that your monitor is using the new profile (Windows >> go to 'Colour Management' in 'Control Panel').
the software will prompt you for your account id when the calibration has finished so it can save details of the scan.
How to create a printer/paper profile 🖨️
You will need a profile for each Printer / Paper combination if you are to get the best out of you printer

How to set up an 'Export' Preset in Lightroom Classic - 'Library' module to export a file that conforms to the Camera Club requirements.
IMAGE FILE REQUIREMENTS
Click on "Export"
Create an 'EXPORT' Preset named "FDCC-Monthly Comps"
"EXPORT LOCATION" - Set the parameters as follows:
Select the 'folder' where you want the exported JPG file to go (I'd suggest you keep all your images used for Camera Club MONTHLY Comps in 1 place so you know what and when an image has been used previously) Maybe have a separate folder for candidate images and one for images that you have entered.
"FILE NAMING"
Create a File naming preset to suit your needs.
eg. <YYMM>-<Section>-<Title>-<Image #>.jpg
where <YYMM> is the month the image was submitted to the comp
<Section> of the Competition eg D=Digital/ P=Print, C=Colour, M=Mono
These 2 items can be text that is input at export time
eg. 2604-DC-Splashdown-2245.jpg
"FILE SETTINGS"
Image Format = 'JPEG'
Quality = 100%
Limit File Size to: (ticked) >> 5000 K
"IMAGE SIZING"
Resize to fit: (ticked) - Select 'Height & Width'
w: 1920 H: 1080 'Pixels'
(This will constrain the image size to be within these limits while maintaining the aspect ratio)
Resolution: 300 'Pixels per Inch'
OUTPUT SHARPENING
Sharpen for: (ticked) >> 'Screen'
Amount: Select 'High' or 'Standard'
"METADATA"
Include 'All Metadata'
uncheck all other boxes in this section (unless you need to remove for a particular reason)
"WATERMARKING" unchecked
All other sections can be set to your choice
Images for the calendar have specific 'Crop' required and file 'resolutions' characteristics to ensure they give the best results when printed. It's best that you do this rather then them to ensure that the image crop is performed correctly
How to set up a 'Custom Aspect Ratio' in Lightroom Classic
Cropping ratio
In Lightroom Classic - 'Develop' module
Select the Crop tool
Create a 'Custom' Aspect ratio by
selecting 'Enter Custom' in the drop down 'Aspect Ratio' list
enter the dimensions '4.2' width & '2.36' height
make sure the new Aspect ration is saved and appears in the list

How to set up a Preset In Lightroom Classic - 'Library' module to export a file that conforms to the VAPS interclub requirements for EDPI and Digital version of Prints.
IMAGE FILE REQUIREMENTS
Click on "Export"
Create an 'EXPORT' Preset named "VAPS Interclub-Print & EDPI"
"EXPORT LOCATION" - Set the parameters as follows:
Select the 'folder' where you want the exported JPG file to go (I'd suggest you keep all your images used for VAPS Interclub entries in 1 place so you know what and when an image has been used previously) Maybe have a separate folder for candidate images and one for images that you have entered.
"FILE NAMING"
Create a File naming preset to suit your needs.
eg. <YY>-<Section>-<Title>-<Image #>.jpg
where <YY> is the Year that the image was submitted into the VAPS Interclub comp

NOTE: If you want to use a Non Gmail email address as your Google id (and NOT get a GMail a/c) take particular note of steps 3 & 4.
If you have multiple Google Account Id's then this will save you a lot of confusion.
The following works for Windows computers. You will need to check for compatibility with MAC computers.
By following the steps in the instructions (below), you will create a Desktop Shortcut that will open up a separate Browser window for a specific Google Account. You can do this for multiple Google accounts and you can have both accounts open in separate windows without issue and switch between them
