One of the most effective ways to generate leads is to physically hang flyers/posters. While we have created and put up hundreds, we still need help. If you can help even get 1 flyer put up we would love that.
Going to your pets next vet appointment soon? Print and take a flyer. Going to your local pet store to pick up more pet supplies? Print and take a flyer. Going to grab a drink/food at the neighborhood restaurant/bar? Print and take a flyer. You get it.
If you want to help with this, but aren't sure how to get started please, please, please reach out to me via e-mail. If you want to help but don't have time/disposable income to print the flyers, reach out to me so we can coordinate.
If you are able to get flyers/posters hung or handed out to a business/vet/groomer/etc please reach out to me so I can record that in my list.
AND REMEMBER. Dogs do not stop at county/state lines. It does not matter if you are not in the immediate area where Storm went missing. He could be anywhere by now, especially if a human has intervened (innocently or not).
Are you commuting for work? Drive around a lot? Park on a busy street? You can either print a flyer and put it in the back windshield of your car. Alternatively, you can also get some windshield pens and write down Storm's description on your windshield (back or sides) and put his picture up with our contact information.
Do you live on a busy street, an area with heavy traffic by foot or car? Don't have time to commit to putting up flyers? Please consider putting up a yard sign either in your yard or in the front window of your house. Maybe you don't live in an area with high visibility, but that's ok any new set of eyes we have that are aware of Storm is good. Maybe you know a friend or family member that does and would be willing to help.
We live north in Bothell which is far away from where Storm went missing and we have a new baby that was born 9 days before Storm was missing. While we would love to arrange drop offs to all the folks that want to help, we can't do so in a way that is scalable or efficient. If you live or work close to the area where Storm went missing OR even in Seattle adjacent neighborhoods/communities and can act as a flyer/yard sign pick-up location we would greatly appreciate that! We are happy to work with individuals willing to take this on to figure out how to make this safe first and foremost, but also something that requires minimal work from you.
Use the hashtag #FindStorm on Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, Facebook, Craigslist...honestly wherever you can think of. Share his story/pictures and make sure that people everywhere know to look out for him. It doesn't matter how many followers you do or don't have every new person who learns about him could end up being the one person we need that gets the sighting that brings him home. If you are on Instagram, repost, save, like the content we create @akk_storm.
Share with your neighbors, dog circles, co-workers, grandma/grandpa whoever you can think of. We want to make sure that everyone knows about Storm so that our Storm watch network continues to grow even beyond social media.
Share on NextDoor and the Neighbors by Ring app. Monitor your feeds closely for lost dog reports in the lost & found section. You do not need a ring doorbell to get the Ring app. Help us monitor neighborhoods outside of our ability.
Whenever you're out especially if you're in areas with places for a small dog to hide, keep a look out. Common places might be under cars especially ones that are parked for long periods of time without movement, bushes/shrubs (like blackberry bushes), raised porches, etc.
Please do not go on private property without permission, but if you do get consent, check under raised decks/porches, car ports/open garages, in bushes, in window wells, etc.
Remember, DO NOT call out his name or chase him if you see him. Call us with any sightings immediately.
We won't stop looking for our boy. If you are in a position where you feel comfortable with donating financially to help us keep the wheels turning on our #FindStorm operation, please consider donating to our GoFundMe. All funds will be utilized toward #FindStorm efforts including creation/maintenance of flyers/posters/yard signs, addition to our reward pot (as needed), etc. Our GoFundMe is linked below or on the home page.
As I stated before, dogs & humans do not stop at county/state lines. Storm could be anywhere. Please look through local rescues, shelters, posts from your local lost/found dog social media groups, your local Craigslist or any sites where a dog might be rehomed/sold. Send any potential leads to us via text or email.
Remember, shelters are overwhelmed right now. Mistakes can be made during data entry. If there is a dog that looks/sounds like it could be Storm, still send it our way. Being overworked, data entry errors like a male dog being entered in as female can happen. Leave no stone unturned!
Currently our flyers are only available in English and we know that English may not be a first language to all people living/working in the area where Storm disappeared. If you can help us translate our flyers into a different language (Chinese, Vietnamese, Spanish, etc) please let us know. We would love to have flyers available to post in different languages.

We want to think we know it all and have done it all, but we don't know what we don't know. Help us think outside the box and share your ideas about how we can expand our network further. No idea is stupid if it helps us take another step forward in our effort to #FindStorm.
