GOAL-SETTING FRAMEWORK & PROBLEM-SOLVING TECHNIQUE
WOOP is a goal-setting framework and problem-solving technique developed by Dr. Gabriele Oettingen that uses mental contrasting, a self-regulation strategy, to help us use our unconscious mind to overcome challenges and achieve goals. WOOP is an acronym for four steps: Wish, Outcome, Obstacle, Plan.
In this module, we will use WOOP to help us define and actualize our purpose. Specifically, we will:
Find our sweet spot and write a purpose statement (Wish)
Define success and happiness (Outcome)
Identify our fears and doubts (Obstacle)
Choose three words that will help us overcome our fears and doubts (Plan)
