2.1, 2.2
The vast majority of my project will be based around worldbuilding - you cannot create the aesthetics and designs without first deciding where and how they play into the world itself. Before I can even begin to create my concepts, I must first build this world, and the only way I can confidently do that is to look into other creators, and how they have done this very task successfully. With each of these creators, I will be asking the following questions:
How do they build a unique culture, history, and ecosystem?
How do they use those components to inform the aesthetics of their world?
How do they take inspiration from the real world, to keep their built world feeling familiar and relatable?
In asking these questions, I will hopefully be able to get to the root of what makes these completely unique worlds so universally loved, and what makes them work so well as places people can escape to.
