There were various logos and animations that I needed to do for this trailer outside of Blender, and so I decided I would use Adobe After Effects to create these aspects.
First, I made up a fake game company called “Astral Studios”, made a simple animation for some planets spinning, and then used various effects to create a title sequence; I came up with the title “Moonstruck”, since it sounds a little like starstruck, and takes inspiration from the Cavetown song I based Maur off of. The shooting star is one of my favourite aspects of this title sequence, I got it from a tutorial online.
I edited all of these clips together in Adobe Premiere Pro, a video editing software that I am extremely familiar with, and sorted out the pacing of the clips. I used effects such as cross-fades and cross dissolves frequently — in all instances where I had a zoom or slide I made sure to use Bézier curves in the graph editor, so that it looks especially natural and professional.
I realise that since I'm not actually licencing this trailer, I can use whatever music I please — this means I get to use the Cavetown song I mentioned in my development. I downloaded the music off the official YouTube video, and placed it into my Premiere Pro doc. Unfortunately, I realised quite quickly that the song was far too fast-paced, not only for the slow-paced vision I had for my trailer, but also for the already animated and exported Blender scene I had by this point. I solved the problem by slowing the song down until it synced nicely — I also don't think it sounds too bad like this.
The only other thing I added sound-wise is some simple whoosing sounds each time the scene shifted right.
