Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullah Wabarakatuh.
We hope our message finds you in the best condition of Iman and health.
On behalf of the Islamic Medical Association in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (IMAKSA) / World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY), we are pleased to send you the announcement of the 13th Umrah Program 2024 for Medical Students nominated by Islamic Medical Associations (IMAs), members of Federation of Islamic Medical Associations (FIMA).
Important Dates:
· Arrival Day: Wednesday 21st, February to Madinah
· Proper Duration of Program: Thursday 22nd, February to Monday 26th February (Conclusive)
· Transfer from Madinah to Makkah: Saturday 24th, February
· End of Program and Return Departure via Jeddah: Tuesday 27th, February
Registration Date:
The registration of participants is open as of now till the deadline time (1st, February 2024).
Important Note for Itinerary Booking:
To get our support for the delegation, we advise arranging arrival to Madinah where the program will start, and the return departure from Jeddah.
Nomination of participants who fulfill the conditions and terms is the sole responsibility of IMA student chapters.
The organizing team from IMAKSA expects to receive a complete list of participants from the authorized person in the concerned IMA as a group.
Each IMA is entitled to a maximum number of 3 participants (male and female) except certain large IMAs who will be directly notified of the extra number of participants.
Therefore, we will not entertain direct individual application requests.
Steps for Registration:
1- Complete the information about the IMA medical students’ chapter and its authorized representatives in addition to the nomination list of participants from your IMA.
2- Send the completed Excel sheet to FIMASAC email: fimasac@gmail.com
3- The registration will be finally completed only after receiving approval for the requested nomination by IMAKSA. Approval is a prerequisite.
4- No direct application for registration is accepted from individual participants.
5- The deadline for registration is 1st, February 2024.
Entry Visa:
Visa is the sole responsibility of the participants and/or the IMA.

1. Umrah overview
Question: What is the Umrah all about?
The Umrah program happens annually and targets Muslim medical students representing various Islamic Medical Associations (IMAs) from all over the world and it lasts 5 days. .
We expect delegates representing more than 15 Islamic Medical Associations (IMAs) coming from different parts of the world.
2. Umrah Objectives
Question: What are the Objectives of the Umrah?
The main purpose of this Umrah is to clean the soul of past sins. It is also seen as protection from poverty and the burdens of life as a pilgrim is spending their wealth and time in the way of Allah.
Muslims can perform Umrah more than once in a lifetime.
FOR MEDICAL
Foster connections among Muslim students of various Islamic Medical Associations (IMAs) and countries.
Exchange information and experiences.
Strengthen the involvement of students in IMA activities.
Promote communication and networking among the student chapters of IMAs and other countries.
3. Itinerary and flight details
Question: Do we cover our Travel expenses ?
The individual delegates or the local Islamic Medical Association are responsible for the cost of their arrival /return tickets to the hosting country as well as their entry tickets and Visa fees. The organizing body (IMAKSA/WAMY) will not be responsible for any travel expenses.
4. Mahram for Females:
IMAKSA did NOT make it a condition to come with Mahram assuming the delegate will come as one group. However, if anyone wants to bring a Mahram on their own responsibility, we don’t mind but we will not bear any responsibility or commitment toward his financial requirements. He can stay in another room in the same hotel on his own responsibility but the female student should stay with other female delegates’ rooms. The Mahram will not be counted among the delegates.
5. Important Dates
Question: When will the Umrah start?
All Delegates are expected to arrive at the Umrah on Wednesday 21st February 2024. The Umrah starts on Thursday 22ndFebruary 2024. We don't allow or encourage delegates to arrive earlier than the announced date of arrival Wednesday 21stFebruary 2024. Any delegate arriving earlier is expected to manage their own transportation as well as accommodation until Wednesday 21st February 2024.
6. Question: When will the Umrah end?
The Umrah will end on Monday 26th February 2024 so delegates are expected to leave for their countries on Tuesday 27th February 2024.
7. What happens in case of Early arrivals and Late departures outside the formal days of the Umrah
In case of early arrivals and late departures outside the formal days of the Umrah, delegates / their IMAs will take charge of their costs such as accommodation and meals. The sponsors only cater to them during the stipulated Umrah period.
8. Umrah system and regulations
Question: What are the Umrah regulations?
Delegates are expected to strictly dress decently
Male and female students will be accommodated in separate premises in the Umrah.
During the event activities males and females will be decently segregated.
The programs are mandatory for everyone.
Prayers will be performed together in Jamaat as per schedule (all 5 times).
We trust that our dear delegates will abide by the program regulations/roles and schedule honestly.
9. Question: What is the schedule of all Umrah activities?

10. Question: How many Delegates are allowed to register from each country?
Each IMA is entitled to a maximum number of 3 participants (male and Female) except certain large IMAs who will be directly notified of the extra number of participants.
We do not expect to have supervisors from the IMA only students should participate at this program and the leader should nominated among them.
11. Nomination of delegates by IMAs for registration
Question: How are delegates Nominated?
Delegates will apply through their local Islamic Medical Association (IMA) which will forward their applications to the Email provided in the announcement. Those IMAs must be members of the Federation of Islamic Medical Associations (FIMA).
12. Question: Am I allowed to register if I am no longer a student?
Umrah's target audiences are all undergraduate students, postgraduate students, and freshly graduated students from different health fields. “Health” term in this context includes all health-related sciences such as medicine, pharmacy, and nursing.
13. Individual application for registration
Question: Can I apply as an individual, without going through any Islamic Medical Association (IMA)?
No, each participant should register through his/her IMA. Individual applications will not be entertained.
14. Question: How do we apply for Umrah Visa?
Umrah Visa Application details will be sent to all delegates upon Registration approval; Thereafter delegates will be required to send their travel details (Departure / Arrival) for proper reception.
15. Expenses
Question: What expenses do we incur?
The IMAs and/or individual delegates are responsible for the cost of their arrival and return tickets to the hosting country as well as their entry Visa fees.
There are NO registration fees for the Umrah.
Accommodation and meals will be provided free of charge by IMAKSA/WAMY during the sole days of Umrah activities.
IMAKSA/WAMY will be responsible for local arrangements and transportation of delegates during the Umrah period.
Delegates are responsible for expenses of their stay during days outside the program period if needed.
16. Vaccination
Question: How many Covid-19 doses are required to qualify?
A minimum of 2 doses of any Covid-19 Vaccine
17. Certificates of attendance and/or appreciation
Question: Do we get any Certificates after the Umrah?
Certificates of Participation/ Appreciation will be issued via email upon completion of an Evaluation form that will be sent to delegates after the Umrah by email.
18. Grouping of delegates
Question: How are delegates grouped during the Umrah?
Delegates are first divided into Male and Female groups, later the delegates are distributed into groups ensuring that there is a good mix of students from different countries, to enhance the connections in-between.
19. Question: What do I have to come with to the Umrah?
Delegates are advised to bring the following items along with them:
Personal needs, documents e.g. certificate of vaccination for Covid-19 and hygienic tools.
Gifts and items that may be needed for sharing culture and skills
20. Language of the Umrah
Question: What Language is used during the Umrah?
The official language of the Umrah is English

Question: What are the tourist venues to be visited?

23. Safety deposits
Each participant is responsible for his/her luggage as a room shared with other participants.
24. Meals
Question: What kinds of Meals are served during the Umrah?

Question: How do we manage Laundry during the Umrah?
Washing machines will be available.
26. Photography
Question: Are we allowed to take any photographs during the Umrah?
Yes, allowed and encouraged. We may need to share selected photos.
27. CME accreditation
Not available.
28. Jamaat Prayers & related activities
Question: How are prayers and related activities organized?
All Prayers will be performed together in Jamaat as per schedule (all 5 times).
29. Emergency medical care
Question: How are Emergency Medical conditions handled during the Umrah?
Our Umrah Supervisors will be available in case of any emergencies.
30. Internet services
Question: Do we get access to the internet while in the Umrah?
Yes, Wifi will be available in certain areas. You can purchase your own mobile internet package from the airport.
31. Reception and local transportation of delegates to the Umrah location/hotel
Question: In case we land at a distant Airport, will there be transportation to the Umrah location/hotel?
Please make sure you land at the Destination Airport provided in the announcement (Madinah) to make it easy for the Host (Saudi Arabia) to receive you and provide local transportation to the Umrah location.. Make sure to send your flight details to the provided email (FIMASAC@gmail.com) in advance of time.
The departure from the Umrah will be from Jeddah since it will be our final destination.
32. Leaving outside the designated location/hotel of the Umrah
Question: Are delegates allowed to stay outside the reserved Umrah area?
No, Delegates must stay at the Umrah hotels in both Medina and Makkah during the Umrah stipulated period.
33. Exchange of gifts among delegates
Question: Are delegates allowed to exchange gifts as souvenirs?
Yes, and highly encouraged. During the Umrah, we will allocate certain appropriate time for exchanging gifts among the groups.
34. Question: Does my country have an IMA registered in FIMA?
Any IMA that has full or associate membership in FIMA is entitled to participate with their student delegate. To find out the membership status of your IMA, you can check the FIMA website: www.fimaweb.net. Or contact FIMA Secretary General.
35. Question: Communication with Umrah administration for further inquiries or requests
In case of any inquiries and requests, do not hesitate to communicate with us by email: fimasac@gmail.com. In addition, Umrah supervisors will be available throughout the Umrah period.
36. Evaluation of the event and Certificates
Question: How will the event be evaluated?
Evaluation forms will be sent to all delegates at the end of the Umrah. Upon completing and submitting the forms, Certificates of Appreciation and Participation will be issued and sent to you electronically.
