The blooming

Synopsis

Finally out of prison after 27 years, Solange, a deaf woman, has just moved into a small apartment. At sixty-seven years old, she is tasked with finding her place in a stigmatizing society whose codes she no longer knows.

Will she be able to achieve full freedom and overcome all that is stacked against her?

About the film

Telling the story of a deaf elder woman leaving prison is an advocacy act.

Through this short film, the director wanted to highlight the different obstacles that such people would face. The lack of awareness and the lack of facilities for deaf people are pointed out in different situations that deaf people are usually confronted with.

The fact that the main character is a woman is a way of promoting women in the cinema community.
