Audrey Sangla

Deaf, Audrey has many and varied professional experiences in the field of sign language accessibility in France. She is also fully involved in the recognition of Deaf people's rights through her various commitments. She works as a media coordinator for the WFD (World Federation of the Deaf) and also sits on the board of the FNSF (Fédération Nationale des Sourds de France). 

Through her father's work, she has been immersed in the world of video since childhood. Always drawn to the art of filmmaking, she made her first two documentaries in 2020, "A Profession Named Desire" and "The Ordinary Life of a Singular Man" (TV program: l'Oeil et la main - France 5).

In 2022, she shares some of her childhood memories with the public, paying tribute to her father's commitment and creativity with "Mon père, un homme engagé" (Program: l'Oeil et la main - France 5).

That same year, she began collaborating with Illumination Studio and decided to write and direct her first short film: "The blooming". At the Festival Clin d'Oeil (2022 - France), Audrey won the award for Best Director, and Chantal Liennel, the film's lead actress, won the award for Best Actress. The film also won the Audience Award and Best International Film at the Gainditzen Festival (2022 - Spain).

In 2023, she directed the short film "19:24" with Aurelien Mancino. This film won 3 awards at the Film'Ô festival in (2023 - France): Best Actress, Best National Film and Audience Award.

Her passion also led her to collaborate with the Danish theatre company Teater 5005 on the dramaturgy and video creation of the show ‘On the edge’.
