Biography
He is an italian composer of electroacoustic, acousmatic music and musique concrète, sound designer, and multimedial artist.
He graduated in Music and New Technologies, with a Master of Arts in Electronic Music, summa cum laude, at the Conservatory of Music G. P. da Palestrina of Cagliari.
He attended various training courses and seminars, held by the following musicians and/or composers: Elio Martusciello, Xabier Iriondo, Luigi Ceccarelli, Stefano Zorzanello, Marco Donnarumma, Romeo Scaccia, Marcel Wierckx, Bernard Fort, Tim Hodgkinson, Lionel Marchetti.
His electroacoustic compositions and his video works have been selected and performed at various international festivals. He composed music for contemporary dance events, theater, short films, videoclips, contemporary art exhibitions, and sound installations in public and private venues. He also carries out the necessary field recordings, mixing, and mastering.
He performed at the following international events: Signal Festival, Tempo Reale Festival, Di_Stanze Festival, Time In Jazz, Multiversal Festival, Music In Touch, Miniere Sonore, Acusmatica in Movimento, Spaziomusica Festival, Contemporary -Festival Arte d'Avanguardia- and more. He collaborated with several artists and cultural associations: with Spazio Musica, composed and performed the original music for the inauguration of the cultural production center Move the Box - Villa Verde, Italy. With Amici della Musica di Cagliari at the international festival Interpretazione della Musica Acusmatica. With Carovana S.M.I., composing and performing original music for the contemporary dance show Paesaggi Interrotti.
His research interests focus on the phenomenology of sound that investigates perceptual and aesthetic dynamics through which the sound phenomenon becomes musical experience. His concept of musical process is built upon three aspects: construction, manipulation, and organization of the sound material by means of electroacoustic and digital technologies. Once these three phases have been completed, the musical composition comes to life.
