Fig Tree Independent School is an English Christian school based in Brakfontein, just outside of East London, Eastern Cape, South Africa. 

It was founded to provide quality education to children on a farm like environment giving them a structured classroom and the safety and freedom of the outdoors. 

Fig Tree Independent School has a wealth of experience at the helm. Mr Davin Lehy, Principal, joined the team full time after running an independent school in the Western Cape for 5 years. He has his Masters in Education where he has researched the benefits of small classes such as the ones used at Fig Tree Independent School. He has also studied his Honours in Education focusing on Educational Leadership, Curriculum Development and Research Methods. 

In support, Mr Ian Lehy is also helping guide the school and as a retired principal, he has extensive wisdom in the education sector. Mr Ian Lehy has also completed his Honours in Education focusing on Educational leadership and Educational Law and he has been involved in school leadership for several years.
