ABOUT US

Mission and Values

The club's vision is to be at the forefront of competitive basketball, and it's development, across all ages, while ensuring a focus that maintains our core values, on and off the court, contributing to serving the social good of our members and the communities throughout Kirkcaldy and Central Fife.

The club's name is derived from our core values:
Sportsmanship, Teamwork, Enjoyment, Enthusiasm, Leadership

Volunteers

Like many community sports organisations, Fife Steel is a member run and funded club. In order to keep the club going we need support in a physical capacity from volunteers. This includes our coaches, our committee and even support with transportation to games and other events for the players and staff.

Mostly our volunteers are from the parent pool or our Senior players but we also have volunteers with no tie to the club in those regards, just people who really want to help out.

If you think you'd be keen to help out in any way, please use the button below to complete a contact from and let us know.

Our Future: Funding Support

Though we have only been registered since 2015, we consider ourselves an ambitious club and, with assistance from BasketballScotland, have embarked on a 4-year plan in which to grow the club to a size and reputation that warrants our regular inclusion within the National League competition structure as well as to be able to sustain, at least, one full time paid employee.

While we are only within year 1 of that plan, we are already 2 years into providing paid apprenticeships (in conjunction with Fife Council and Fife College) and hope to continue to be able to providing such opportunities to young people in the community in the future.

Further growth, however, requires a sustainable and regular flow of additional income in order to adequately pay a full time employee, to continue to further the clubs progress, as well as provide option for the club to reduce member fees so as to make the sport and club even more accessible to all in the community.

This sustainable and regular flow of additional income then is where sponsorship and donations come to the fore. As of August 2021, the club has had no contributing sponsors and, given the above, are actively seeking the same.
