USABO Open Exam: 50 minutes, 50 multiple choice questions
USABO Semifinal Exam: 120 minutes, 123 questions; top 20 scorers go on to represent the US in International Biology Olympiad

Multi-tiered chemistry competition
Local ChemOly: Open to all high school students, held in March (no fee!)
National ChemOly: Participants will be nominated based on local exam performance
International ChemOly: Top 20 scoring students from the national exam spend two weeks at a study camp from which four students are chosen to represent the U.S. at the international olympiad
F=ma: Open to all high students; only has algebra-based mechanics questions; 25 questions in 75 minutes; held around February
USAPhO: about top 400 students from F=ma selected; covers all topics in introductory physics; uses Calculus; 2 parts with 6 questions and 90 minutes each
IPO: Around the top 20 from USAPhO are chosen to participate in a training camp; the top 5 will then be selected to represent the U.S. in the international olympiad
What you’ll be doing:

Conduct research in one of the following areas:

Write a research paper and present the research to a panel of judges either through a poster or an oral presentation

Members can volunteer to give a presentation, or a name (random, usually consists of the Sci Oly teams) will be chosen from a wheel
Last year's topics included: the multiverse, Rocket League, procrastination, perfect pitch, the physics of Kirby, and a theory called the monkeysphere
