About Field Training
Field Training for the Florida Highway Patrol is an important part of their officer training program. It involves hands-on experience, mentoring, and practical application of skills learned in the academy. Field training helps new officers develop the necessary knowledge and abilities to become successful in their law enforcement career. It usually lasts a week and covers various aspects of patrol work, traffic enforcement, and public safety. It's an exciting opportunity to learn and grow as a law enforcement professional. The Florida Highway Patrol looks for dedicated, responsible, and motivated individuals to join as Cadets. They seek candidates who possess strong communication skills, good judgment, and a commitment to public service. Physical fitness, integrity, and the ability to work well under pressure are also important qualities they look for. As well, they ensure the professionalism and well being of State Troopers.
