About Us
About Us
Fo Guang Shan, founded by Venerable Master Hsing Yun in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, is a major centre for promoting Humanistic Buddhism. Through cultural programmes, education, charitable work and communal practice, Fo Guang Shan seeks to bring Buddhist teachings into everyday life, helping people find strength through wisdom and compassion.
Global Outreach of the Bodhi Series
The Bodhi Series rests on three core principles—meditation, education, and companionship—and is designed especially for children and families worldwide. It helps young people develop focus, calm and compassion.
With Fo Guang Shan centres and Buddha’s Light International Association chapters on five continents, we aim to introduce the Bodhi Series to communities around the globe. In classrooms, homes and community settings, children can discover inner peace and wisdom through meditation.
This initiative is not only an extension of education but also a practical expression of Fo Guang Shan’s four core missions—culture, education, charity, and practice—in the spirit of Humanistic Buddhism.
FGS Kids is a Fo Guang Shan initiative focused on children’s education, helping young people strengthen their concentration and mindfulness.
Come and explore the Bodhi Series with us! Guided by Bodhi, a meditation teacher, children are invited to embark on a journey of mindfulness.
Introducing Little Bodhi —
Your Meditation Companion
To bring this vision to life, we created Little Bodhi. Little Bodhi is a thoughtfully designed plush companion that not only accompanies children but also guides them in learning meditation and focus through built-in audio sessions.
With a soft and lovable meditation elephant by their side, children are encouraged to embrace mindfulness as part of their everyday life.
Our Mission
We believe every child deserves the companionship of Little Bodhi because health, happiness, and mindfulness are not privileges for a few, but rights for all children. Through daily meditation and mindfulness, they can grow into individuals with greater inner peace and a richer, more fulfilling life.
Why Meditation Matters for Children
Mindfulness means focusing on the present moment, and meditation is the practice that cultivates this ability. It can help children concentrate better in class, improve learning outcomes, and reduce impulsive behaviour.
Meditation also supports better sleep, eases anxiety and stress, and helps children manage their emotions in a positive way.
And it’s not only for children—teenagers and adults can benefit too. By setting aside life’s daily noise and focusing on the breath, the body, and the present moment, anyone can rediscover calmness and nourish their wellbeing.
An Innovative Solution
That’s why we created Little Bodhi—not just a plush toy, but a gentle role model and companion. With built-in meditation audio sessions, Little Bodhi helps children discover meditation naturally in a fun, engaging way.
Whether you are a parent or a teacher, this lovable little elephant can be a helpful tool for bringing mindfulness into daily routines.
Building Healthier Communities
The Children’s Meditation Promotion Project is fully sponsored by the Hsing Yun Education Foundation.
To continue this mission, we are dedicated to education and research development, and to sharing meditation resources that can reach schools, families, hospitals, community centres, and libraries—so that more children can benefit.
Together, let us create a brighter future and build a healthier, happier, and wiser world for the next generation.
