My adorable mutt. I had an appointment with a blind husky at the Northern California Family Dog Rescue, but something just didn't click between us. I went on to meet other dogs on Rescue Row, and eventually passed by "Ty" at the San Francisco SPCA. It was love at first lick! I renamed him Baeta as an pun between "Bae", a term of endearment that was gathering traction at the time, and "Beta", since (obviously) I would be Alpha in the relationship.
My youngest pup. As Maasu developed more health issues, I worried that his time would come sooner than Baeta, especially given the fact that Maasu's breed only lives 12 - 15 years without health issues whereas Baeta is expected to live on for another 5 - 8 years. So, I found Mochi, a sweet Pomeranian who absolutely LOVES walks and the classic "Pomitude" to go along with it. When she's tired, you can find her resting behind the couch.

Maasu, named after the Japanese word for "Mars" due to his red colouring, was originally found on the railroad with severe mange; animal control had been called in since they thought he was a coyote! Luckily, a kind director of the local animal shelter took him in and nursed him to health, even after the shelter closed its doors. Baeta and I met him post-recovery, and they were brothers ever since. Maasu suffered from severe allergies and secondary infections and also showed signs of epilepsy. I kept his symptoms under control through a mix of prescription diet, baths, and medicine. Unfortunately, the efficacy of this treatment decreased as he aged, and he passed over the rainbow bridge in May 2025.
