The Lexington-class Frigates, also known as the Liam St. John-class, and known colloquially as the Lexi-class, is a class of Frigates in service with the United Federation of Paper Planes, and in the past has served other fleets. The Ship was the basis for the Starhawk-class Vessels. The Planes have several naming conventions, but the most common are the Lexington-started tradition of important battles, and the Liam St. John-started tradition of notable people of the SPN.
As the War with Noah Continued through the Summer, the United Federation of Paper Planes required a new type of Frigate to counter the Rebel Alliance of Noah. This Frigate, designed as a mid-range and multi-role vessel, would be named the Lexington Class.
After Noah Berg and Seth Kosky declared war on the UFP (at that time still the New Federation), the NFP awarded a contract to Gateway Paper Planes to create a class of ships smaller than a destroyer but larger than a fighter (cruiser, Frigate, or Corvette) to aid the large and small vessels of the NFP Air Force. However, the quest for a new ship would not be an easy one. The Federation would have to wait to receive it's newest warship.
Once the school year had ended, the newly re-named United Federation of Paper Planes was prepared to test it's newest prototype. The N-27-class, project FF-29, was tested with three vessels at New Archton Airbase One (the future Founders United Joint Base). All three were an immediate success, and they were later named Lexington, Valley Forge, and Invincible.
