CALL TO ACTION:
- Our advocacy to amend the law has begun 18 years ago. And now, we are rushing against time to make this possible.
- Each day, the number of solo parents, especially single moms with no adequate support, increase.
- Each day, children raised by poor solo parents do not go to school. They frequent the streets looking for work and most often fall prey to unscrupulous persons who lead them to vices, such as drugs or crimes, or result in teen-age pregnancies.
- Each day, a child of a solo parent may fall victim to an online predator since his/her parent is most often away from home working, and is unable to supervise his/her internet interactions.
- Each day, children of solo parents, particularly adolescents suffer from mental/emotional disorders, such as depression, bipolar disorder and the like, and with the prohibitive cost of psychiatric treatment and lack of mental health facilities, they are not properly diagnosed and treated.
