WORK-BASED SOLO PARENTS' ASSOCIATIONS

1. DSWD-Central Office Solo Parent’s Employees Organization (DSWD CO-SPEO)– A support group of 122 solo parent employees, 116 females and 6 males (regular, casual, contractual and MOA workers which was organized in February 2004 as part of the Department’s pilot program, “Psychosocial Programs and Services for Solo Parents”.

The org is recognized by the DSWD as its official advocacy arm on issues and concerns regarding solo parents’ rights and welfare.

DSWD CO –SPEO was accredited by the Quezon City Community Relations Office as a CSO on October 2016 to date.

2. DSWD IVB-MIMAROPA Solo Parent Employees Association - A support group of 35 solo parent employees in DSWD Field Office IVB-MIMAROPA (regular, casual, contractual and MOA workers) organized in May 2016. Focal Person: Josephine Macatangay, Kansas St., Malate, Manila

3. DSWD FO 8 SOLOS ng Rehiyon Otso- A support group of 161 solo parent employees in DSWD Field Office 8 (regular, casual, contractual and MOA workers).

4. DSWD FO 11 Davao Region Association of Solo Parent Employees- A support group of 52 Solo parent employees in DSWD Field Office 11 (regular, casual, contractual and MOA workers) organized in March 2015.

6. DSWD FO NCR –SPEA – Organized in July 25, 2018 comprising an estimated 120 solo parent employees

7. Office of the Solicitor General Solo Parent Employees Association (OSG-SPEA) -Organized in March 2013 comprising 40 solo parent employees. Aside from DSWD, it is the only government agency, to our knowledge, which has so far organized its SP employees.

8. Royal Carribean Cruise Limited SEA – Comprising 100 SP employees, it’s the first private company to our knowledge, which organized its solo parents staff. (For final approval pending submission of org profile)
