UPPER LAWN RENTAL POLICY

Members may reserve the Upper Lawn for cookouts, family gatherings, birthday parties and other social events throughout the year.

We realize that accommodating rental requests during the pool season is a bit tricky; we want our members to be able to host social events on our beautiful Club grounds without compromising other Members’ enjoyment. To this end, the Board decided to implement a policy for Upper Lawn rental.

In the sections below, we detail the general guidelines for Upper Lawn rental and use. The Board reserves the right to modify these guidelines throughout the season as needed.

Renting the Upper Lawn does not include the use of the cabana, pool, and croquet court.

Gathering Size: 

30 person maximum – and – a Swim & Croquet Club Member as the sponsoring host. Member must be present for the event. One supervising adult per every three children under 14 yrs old.

Days & Times Available

Any member who wishes to reserve/rent the Upper Lawn during the pool season may choose: 

1) Friday, Saturday, Sunday late afternoon event from 4 PM – 7 PM, or 

2) Monday – Thursday daytime hours between 10 AM – 7 PM. 

Exceptions

As Friday/Saturday/Sunday tend to be our busiest days at the pool and Club, we will not allow Upper Lawn rentals during the busiest daytime hours of our pool season.  Memorial Day Weekend, Independence Day Weekend, and Labor Day Weekends are not available for Upper Lawn rental.

Guidelines for Guests at Member Hosted Events on Upper Lawn

The host Member is responsible for the Guests’ behavior while at the Club. Guests are responsible for their own safety and assume all personal liability.

Upper Lawn Rental Fee

“In Pool Season” – The rental fee for the Upper Lawn is $400 for 3 hours. 
“Off-Season” – The rental fee for the Upper Lawn is $200 for 3 hours. 

Additionally, any group or Club within Fearrington Village may rent the Upper Lawn space for events in the pool’s off-season (Off-season is defined as the dates prior to opening day or after closing day for the pool). 

Set Up and Clean Up

The group renting the Upper Lawn space will be responsible for most of the set up and break down/clean up as directed by the Board. In the pool’s off-season, this includes removing trash generated by the event as the pool does not have trash pick-up in the off-season.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1.    In order to use the grill(s) and/or have small family gatherings/celebratory parties, is it necessary to rent the upper lawn?

No. Members, with or without guests, do not need a reservation/rental to use the Upper Lawn. If not renting the Upper Lawn, Members must be willing to take their chances on the availability of the grills, seating, games, etc. During the times the Upper Lawn IS rented, it is off-limits to other members and guests. 

2.    How do Members know if/when the Upper Lawn is available?

3.    When hosting and renting a gathering on the upper lawn, are the guests to the event(s) eligible to swim during the event(s)?

No. Use of the pool, hot tub/spa, ping pong and Croquet court are not part of the Upper Lawn rental. 

4.    Are members able to host gatherings or parties in the clubhouse cabana rent-free, thereby preventing other members from using the ping pong table?

At this time, the rental/reservation of the Cabana for hosted gatherings is not permitted.
