I am mostly a sculptural artist but have always been eager to explore various routes of creativity ever since my early childhood. Over the years I've grown to embrace how creating artwork has given me a positive outlet my pent-up energy and given me a way to express ideas and emotions that i find difficult to verbalize to others and has become essential to me maintaining my emotional well-being.  I've always been eager to learn and am fascinated by how limitless developing the knowledge and skills to create artwork is and it has led me to dabble in a very wide variety of forms of art. From tattooing to origami to poetry but my most developed areas of work are in ceramics and leather carving and crafting but am also very skilled in wood and metal working as well and am getting back into stone carving as an occupation. My ceramic work tends to consist of large wheel thrown vases that I do a variety of cutouts and shape manipulations with. I find myself fascinated by the infinite variations of patterns that are possible with the cutout and I strive to push the clay to its limits of support and balance to create pieces that seem to defy gravity, often times have wonderful optical illusions as well. As many may have noticed I often title my pieces after songs that I find I can relate to in personal experiences at that time in life or songs that help convey the idea or inspiration behind a piece. With my leather carving I have looked to the Sheridan areas strong traditions of intricate and detailed patterns as my inspiration and am always looking for new ideas on how I can combine it with my ceramic and wood work. One of the ways I've developed this over the years is in the numerous drums I have made. With my work with metal i have tended to try and make sculptures that are true to nature. The more artistic of my wood work has been in the relief carvings I have done but also have always enjoyed the opportunities to build custom carpentry projects as well. With my found materials pieces I have done often tend to be conceptual in nature and often explores ideas of perception and personal development in our day and age.Â
'If willing to learn, Your truth will be Found.'
Was a transitionary piece made from book collection I had inherited from a dear friend and in continuing his spirit of giving books had given them all away.
Leather Coat I made for myself.
For the most part I've always lived where I reside now, in Sheridan, Wyoming. To say the least I was brought up in tumultuous up bringing and the behaviors I had been raised to see as normal lead me to having struggles with addiction throughout my teens and well into the first half my twenties. Eventually I came to the realization that in order to change the behaviors that were holding me back I needed to completely change the lifestyle I was living. Since then, I have worked to develop skills to be the best father I can to my two teenage children and to maintain a life in sobriety. As of now, I am well into my 30's, have years of sobriety and have completely turned my life around from what it was 15 years ago. Â In the process I have learned the necessity of having a fulfilling life and how my artwork and giving back to others has helped me find my purpose in life. I'm now going on five years of having my own company called Round House Remodeling and 3 years of developing the artist co-op I described in previous section. Through both endeavors I am grateful for the opportunities it has given me to not only financially support myself and my children but also for the various skills it has helped me to develop and for the many times it has allowed to help others in my community. My work is available in numerous stores and galleries in the Sheridan area and I have spent the last 3 years developing the artist co-op Fear and Loathing Where the Buffalo Roam. Through the co-op I have encouraged others in our community to explore the therapeutic value of having creative outlets by teaching what I know and sharing the tools that I have accumulated over the years.Â
