Battery Performance of Rotorcrafts

[2019 - ongoing]

This project aims to determine performance parameters (battery drain, deviation from flight plan etc.) by conducting real-world flight tests of rotorcrafts, (quadcopter and hexacopter), under severe environmental conditions (like high wind or low temperature). This project can serve as a scientific quantitative analysis of UAV performance. Flight tests are being conducted in both indoor test facilities (Purdue University’s Boeing Wind Tunnel) and outdoor fields. Currently indoor tests have been performed under controlled environment of wind tunnel.
