This is a reflection paper that includes a few question that you must address while keeping in mind the lessons and concepts learned in organization behavior class that I will mention below, I WILL ALSO write a few notes under all the questions to get to know me more and be able to write the reflection, however feel free to elaborate and add things of your own.
What talents will you bring to an organization and what will you need to work on? Specifically, answer the following six questions:
1- Organizations hire based on "value proposition". Reflect on your value proposition. Ideally, the value you bring to the organization should exceed the amount you are being paid.
- I think the value I offer is diversity, coming from an international background AND SPEAaking several languages, as well as traveling and studying in more than one country (exposure)
What technical skills, domain knowledge, general knowledge, "soft skills" and other talents will you provide to your first employer after graduation? This can be modified a bit, but is still very important to consider, if you will lead a start-up or join your family business.
- my major is finance and entrepreneurship, I haven't really thought about it
- make sure to mention the different skills (you can make it up)
2- Do you think your value proposition will be in demand and by which employers? How much competition will there be for these positions?
- Honestly, there is a high demand and a lot of competition. However nowadays people are looking to hire those with expectional skills. There are a lot of business major graduates so the way you distinguish yourself is important
3- What will you need to work on prior to graduation?
- more work experience and internships.
- workshops
- improving my CV
4- What challenges or deficits will you need to work on during your first year?
- adapting to the work environment
- being patient when dealing with managers/colleagues that I disagree with
- grasping all opportunities even if it's not necessarily what I want
- exposing myself and connections
5- What specific talents, skills or personal areas would you like to develop during your first ten years after graduation?
- time managment
- investing
- stock market analysis
- excel
6- What is unclear to you at this point in the development of your professional life?
- a question that every graduate has in mind after graduating..."now what"?
- I'm overwhelmed with all the oppurtunities to its just a matter of time to organize my thoughts and options and work from there
Please make sure to answer the questions throughout the reflection, make sure it flows and feel free to add things just use my notes to know what to write or which path to choose, and please don't use any outside source
