Principle Investigator
Aida Farsi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Oklahoma (OU). Prior to joining OU, she was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), primarily working on electrochemical carbon capture systems. She also served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto, working as part of the CANSTOREnergy Canadian initiative aimed at advancing carbon-to-fuel conversion technologies. Dr. Farsi earned her PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Ontario Tech University in partnership with Canadian Nuclear Laboratories, with a focus on electrochemcial hydrogen production.
Dr. Farsi’s research focuses on the development of membrane-electrode-assembly–based electrochemical energy storage and conversion, with particular interest in characterizing transport behaviors of fluids within porous electrodes. Her work aims to deliver practical, scalable solutions to the climate-change crisis by integrating advanced electrochemical diagnostics, materials characterization, and system-level design.
