We’re thrilled to launch Farragut’s 78th year with such a strong and connected village, and I’m excited to take our next steps together toward a new theme...
Academic Excellence
My hope for this year is that we can work together—teachers and families—to deeply support our students in mastering the content standards.
In the week ahead, our teaching team will be setting schoolwide academic goals that will guide our instructional practices throughout the year. These goals, along with how we measure our progress, will be centered around data from iReady.
Family involvement will play a key role in your child's academic success. This year, students will participate in iReady benchmark assessments in the fall, winter, and spring. These assessments will help us track their growth with national student norms and identify areas where additional support may be needed.
To help you get started, here is some more information about what to expect and how you can stay engaged in their learning journey.

Our Village has been built on shared values in our Farragut Compact that our staff, students and parents have committed to living every day As we did last year, we are going to send home a paper copy of these for you and your student to sign and return to the teacher. This year, we have included a Digital Promise:
My Promise as a Digital Citizen
As a student using technology at school and at home, I promise to be a responsible, respectful, and safe digital citizen. I agree to follow these rules:
🧠 Think First
I will think before I post or share anything online.
I will only visit websites and apps that are safe and approved by my teacher or parent.
I will tell a trusted adult if I see something that makes me uncomfortable or seems wrong.
💬 Be Kind and Respectful
I will be kind in my messages, comments, and posts—just like I would in real life.
I won’t say mean or hurtful things online.
I will ask permission before sharing photos, videos, or information about someone else.
🛡️ Stay Safe
I will not share personal information of myself or others, including full name, address, phone number, or passwords.
I will use my district assigned password and keep them private (except with my parents or teacher).
I will never agree to meet someone in person that I only know online.
We appreciate your support as we navigate this new emphasis together. Please remember that ALL digital devices, including watches, must be turned off and kept in backpacks while the student is on campus. Thanks!
We have made some adjustments to our PAWS ceremonies to make sure we capture the moments of celebration and student empowerment our village needs. Starting in September, we will hold our first of three Schoolwide Assemblies in our back playground, and parents are welcome to join us!
These will be focused on a topic and will not include PAWS awards. Instead, we are going to have a rotation of 3rd-5th grade PAWS and TK-2nd grade ceremonies in the Cafeteria each month. More details to come in our Foxy Flyer, but here is our Calendar as of now:
September Schoolwide
October PAWS 3rd to 5th
November PAWS TK to 2nd
December PAWS 3rd to 5th
January PAWS TK to 2nd
February Schoolwide
March PAWS 3rd to 5th

Check out how much fun we had!!!
Our Campus Beautification Event brought the sparkle! We are thrilled to share that our campus looks amazing thanks to some quality members of our Village. HUGE shout out to Fan Club leaders Sara, Annika, Ally, Angela, Jim and Kristine for putting this together. We were also very grateful to CCUSD Board Member Brian Guerrero for joining us and putting some hard work on the back tables and sheds. Thanks to all the families who attended. We are very lucky to have this spirit of service at Farragut!
Thanks to our Patio Cleaning Team led by Danielle Livingston, parent of our two new students, Bryson and London. She has courageously led the efforts to keep our classroom patios clean. She welcomes anyone interested in helping to join her on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. We are very lucky to have her in our community!!!
Has your child mentioned iReady? Recently, Farragut students in grades 1 - 5 have been taking math and reading Diagnostic Assessments using a district approved program called iReady. These diagnostic assessments give us a better understanding of what our foxes currently know, and what they don’t know… yet!
The Beginning of the Year diagnostic window for students in grades 1 - 5 is August 26th - September 30th. Kindergarten students will take the diagnostic assessments from September 16th - October 4th. Diagnostic assessments happen 3 times per year (once each trimester) to track learning and growth.
So, if your student mentions iReady (and mentions the diagnostic tests seemed kind of hard) it is perfectly okay! iReady is just one part of the data our amazing Farragut teachers and support staff use to inform the next steps in their teaching.
Want to check out iReady at home? Once your fox has completed their diagnostic, they will be able to navigate “My Path” to play games and practice necessary skills for continued learning at home. Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any questions about using iReady at home. You can also learn more about the Family Resources that are available in iReady using this link: https://i-readycentral.com/familycenter/
In reflecting with our staff and PBIS team, the school has decided to move toward LinHowe's model for student leadership. We will be presenting new elected roles for 4th and 5th grade, which we will call the "Executive Branch." In addition, we will have class representatives in grades 3rd through 5th, which will make up our "Legislative Branch."
Once formed, our student leadership will invite our Green team, Peace Keepers and other groups invited to meet and discuss their plans and goals. Our goal is to empower our students and give them more voice around our campus. More information below:
