Fiction is a profound tool in helping us to confront the darkest parts of ourselves, and there is no genre better equipped for such a task than the Gothic. At Fang & Flower, we revel in the lessons the Gothic can teach us—and we sincerely hope you'll join in.

True to Wilde's Preface to The Picture of Dorian Gray, we believe that the artist can express everything. We do not believe in sanitizing art for the sake of palatability, as we believe that the pressure to create "unproblematic art" disproportionately impacts people from disadvantaged communities seeking to explore experiences that the mainstream may not deem "appropriate". We are also firmly anti-censorship in the realm of literature; we have no interest in watered-down art, especially in this genre. We implore you to keep your art genuine and honest to you.

Fang & Flower is dedicated to uplifting writers that big publishing has a tendency to overlook. We strive to be a welcoming and safe publication for queer writers, writers of color, disabled writers, etc.
