Recent Events

On Sunday 1st August our Society was treated to an informative talk on the History of Recipe Book's, particularly Edmond's cookbooks. Jane Teal shared with us the changes that cookbooks have gone through over the years, especially when metric measures came in.

Spent a great afternoon on the 11th. April visiting Kate Sheppard House. We were privileged to be the first group to use the new afternoon tea facilities


Another wonderful Field Trip. On the Saturday, two historic homes, Terrace Station & Steventon, near Hororata and Sunday visits to the Cust & Oxford Museums, the refurbished Oxford Town Hall and lunch at Ribblesdale Gardens. A great weekend!

The Family History Society's library is open again for 2021. On Saturday, 11 keen and energetic members completed a "Spring Clean" of the rooms .

Our rooms will be open each Monday and Saturday from 10am - 12 noon. Join us at 401 A "The Office" Papanui Road.

The Society spent a fun afternoon at their Christmas Meeting on Sunday 6 December, looking a a variety of self published family trees.

On Sunday 2nd August we held our annual Mid Winter Dinner. This time in a new trial premises in Merivale. The whole afternoon went off very well. Great food and a lot of fun singing songs from our childhood.
