Tinner Hill Arch

Description: The Tinner Hill Heritage Foundation erected a fifteen foot roman arch, constructed of rare pink granite quarried at the base of Tinner Hill by the Tinner family. The monument honors the men and women of Tinner Hill who formed the first rural branch of the NAACP. The stones for the arch were collected from 30 property owners of Falls Church kindly donated back these stones to be used in the monument. The monument has a nine-foot base of reinforced concrete and a metal infrastructure for each ascending pillar.
