In history, some have used mathematics to prove their faith. For example, Pascal used probability theory to prove that we should live holy lives. His argument was that no matter how small the probability that God exists, when you multiply that probability times the infinite payoff of eternity in heaven, the result is an infinite expectation that outweighs the finite expectation that God does not exist. Do you agree with his reasoning? If you could talk to Pascal, what questions or comments would you have?
